Why we love the Service Desk and IT Support show

Marval has been present at the Service Desk & IT Support Show (SITS) for their entire 25-year history, so it’s fair to say that we absolutely love it. And as always, this year’s event was a huge success with thousands of attendees walking through the doors at the ExCel, London.

So, why do we love it show much? It’s a question you never thought you’d ask but if you keep reading, I’ll tell you why.

1. It’s hard to find a better way to keep up to date with the latest ITSM trends with 60+ seminars, world-class keynotes and roundtable discussions taking place over the two days. You also have the opportunity to meet and network with thousands of ITSM professionals and peers face-to-face.

2. The face-to-face element of SITS is so important to us. In our ever-changing online world, we’re nearly losing that human interaction. Of course, it’s fantastic that we can do so much online but face-to-face interactions surpass video calls, emails and instant messages. Our people and the relationships we build with our customers are what make Marval different, and better. Relationships are so much easier to build through face-to-face meetings than with virtual meetings and relationships are without a doubt, the key to any kind of long-term success, so we like to build them early on and SITS provides the perfect opportunity to do so.

3. Members of #TeamMarval love getting up in front of people and sharing their knowledge. After all, it’s a part of our corporate mission to “Empower each other to take action, become better and make a difference” and to “Demonstrate and deliver operational excellence and exceptional business value”. What better way to demonstrate this than by speaking and sharing our knowledge at one or more of the shows 60+ seminars, keynotes and roundtable discussions.

4. Throughout SITS, we don’t just get to demonstrate how good #TeamMarval is, we get to demonstrate just how good our ITSM solution (Marval MSM) is as well. I love being able to see someone’s face light up when they see a new feature that’ll transform their work lives, and at SITS we’re doing this all day every day. Our website, brochures and the text on our stand are great sources of information but there’s nothing better than being able to provide stand visitors with a personalised, hands-on demo with one of the team.

5. After speaking to hundreds of people daily, we’re lucky to come away with a great view of the coalface, and a better understanding of the challenges people are facing every day, and what we can do to make their lives easier and our product better.   

6. Lastly, Marval’s made up of lots of individual departments and teams, so like most businesses, our employees don’t always get the chance to work with everyone. However, this changes when SITS comes around, near enough everybody gets involved in the run-up to the show, and then at the show itself. I love watching the team get stuck in, all working towards one common goal which forms, builds and strengthens relationships new and old.

In summary, It’s all about people, people and learning. If SITS was a 365-day event I’m pretty sure we’d be there for all of it, having great conversations, building relationships and sharing our knowledge!
